No, the result of cataract surgery is permanent. However, sometimes patients experience decreased vision after surgery due to a clouding of the clear membrane that supports the IOL. This causes the same symptoms as a cataract with cloudy vision and glare. A simple laser procedure can clear this membrane returning clear vision. This membrane does not grow back and the result is permanent.
