At Boutique Eye Orlando, we believe in a whole-person approach to health, wellness, and appearance. Led by Dr. Brian D. Haas, MD, F.A.C.S. — a board-certified ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon with over 20 years of experience and more than 1,000 surgeries annually — our practice uniquely bridges precision medicine with aesthetic and rehabilitative care.
Emsculpt NEO is available through our Boutique MedSpa Orlando program, offering Orlando patients access to the most advanced non-invasive muscle rehabilitation and body wellness technology on the market — in the same trusted environment where Dr. Haas and his team have cared for thousands of patients.
“My first encounter with Boutique Eye Orlando was for Oculoplasty. One day in the waiting room I noticed an advertisement for the Neo Sculpt device. I decided I’d like to try it to help smooth and tone areas that diet and exercise alone are difficult to target. I am SO HAPPY with the results!! Dr. Haas and his staff are AMAZING.”
— Denise C., Boutique Eye Orlando Patient
“Friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, attentive. Tried their Emsculpt NEO body shaping treatment and I notice some results a day later. I highly recommend!”
— Wita M., Boutique Eye Orlando Patient
Dr. Haas’s deep expertise in oculoplastic surgery — including treatment of neuromuscular conditions such as blepharospasm and drooping eyelids — positions Boutique Eye Orlando as a uniquely qualified provider for patients seeking Emsculpt NEO therapy for muscle-related conditions. Our clinical team understands neuromuscular disease at a level few MedSpa practices can match.
For patients living with muscle weakness, disuse atrophy, or recovering from injury or surgery, regaining strength can feel like an uphill battle. BTL Emsculpt NEO® offers a breakthrough non-invasive solution — combining the power of High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy and synchronized radiofrequency (RF) to restore muscle function from the inside out.
Emsculpt NEO is the world’s first device to simultaneously deliver HIFEM electromagnetic energy and radiofrequency heat in a single treatment session. Available at Boutique Eye Orlando through our Boutique MedSpa program, Emsculpt NEO has earned expanded FDA clearance for neuromuscular rehabilitation in the arms and legs.
- • Induces supramaximal muscle contractions
- • Stimulates deep muscle fibers far beyond voluntary exercise
- • Promotes muscle re-education, hypertrophy, and re-innervation
- • Warms tissue to enhance circulation and muscle response
- • Relaxes muscle spasms and reduces discomfort
- • Supports local blood flow to aid tissue recovery
In October 2024, the FDA granted Emsculpt NEO expanded clearance for stimulating neuromuscular tissue for rehabilitative purposes in the legs and arms. Cleared indications include:
- • Prevention or retardation of disuse muscle atrophy
- • Muscle re-education and restoration of voluntary control
- • Relaxation of muscle spasms
- • Increasing local blood circulation
- • Maintaining or increasing range of motion
- • Post-surgical and post-injury rehabilitation support
Emsculpt NEO is backed by over 40 peer-reviewed clinical studies. A rigorously controlled 2025 study of 32 participants (ages 32–83) with lower extremity muscle atrophy produced remarkable results after just four 30-minute sessions:
“EMSCULPT NEO is a tremendous patient care advancement, especially for older folks with pain and functional limitations that restrict their exercise or normal day-to-day living. We found phenomenal results with EMSCULPT NEO building muscle and improving functional health. Our patients are feeling stronger across the board.”

In a separate study of 31 patients (ages 23–78) treated with four sessions of Emsculpt NEO:
- • 91% reported their treated joints felt better overall
- • 87% experienced reduced discomfort during daily activities
- • 83% noted an increased range of motion
- • 78% reported improved overall mobility
Emsculpt NEO at Boutique Eye Orlando is an ideal adjunct therapy for patients experiencing:
- • Muscle atrophy due to prolonged immobility, hospitalization, or disuse
- • Post-surgical weakness following orthopedic or neurological procedures
- • Reduced functional capacity from chronic neuromuscular conditions
- • Muscle spasms or restricted range of motion affecting quality of life
- • Age-related muscle decline (sarcopenia) impacting independence and balance
Emsculpt NEO is contraindicated in patients with implanted electronic devices (e.g., pacemakers), metal implants in or near the treatment area, active malignancy, or pregnancy. All patients at Boutique Eye Orlando receive a thorough clinical evaluation before treatment. Emsculpt NEO is intended as an adjunct to, not a replacement for, comprehensive care plans.
There are currently no published clinical trials studying Emsculpt NEO specifically in patients with Oculopharyngeal Muscular Dystrophy (OPMD). The potential applications discussed below are based on (1) known OPMD disease progression including limb muscle involvement, and (2) Emsculpt NEO’s FDA-cleared indications for limb muscle rehabilitation. Use of Emsculpt NEO for OPMD-related limb weakness should be considered on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the patient’s neuromuscular specialist.
Boutique Eye Orlando offers a rare convergence of expertise for patients with oculopharyngeal muscular dystrophy: Dr. Brian Haas is an oculoplastic surgeon with extensive experience treating the eyelid and periorbital neuromuscular conditions — including ptosis repair and blepharospasm — that are hallmarks of OPMD. Combined with our MedSpa’s Emsculpt NEO capabilities, we are uniquely positioned to support OPMD patients across multiple dimensions of their condition.
While Emsculpt NEO cannot address the oculopharyngeal manifestations of OPMD (ptosis and dysphagia), it may offer a meaningful adjunct for the progressive limb muscle weakness that affects many OPMD patients as the disease advances.
OPMD is a rare, late-onset genetic myopathy caused by a mutation in the PABPN1 gene, typically presenting between ages 40 and 60. As the disease progresses:
- • Proximal limb-girdle weakness affecting hips, thighs, and shoulders develops in a substantial proportion of patients
- • Lower limb weakness frequently affects hamstrings, hip adductors, and soleus muscles
- • Approximately 20–81% of patients develop proximal limb weakness as OPMD advances
- • Ambulation difficulties, fatigue, and declining quality of life are common consequences
At present, there is no cure for OPMD. Standard care focuses on symptom management, with physical and occupational therapy as key tools for maintaining limb function.
Emsculpt NEO does not reverse the underlying genetic cause of OPMD, nor does it address ptosis or dysphagia. Its potential role is as a supportive, adjunctive therapy to help preserve and strengthen residual limb muscle function, slow disuse atrophy, and support quality of life — not as a standalone disease-modifying treatment. Dr. Haas and the Boutique Eye Orlando team are committed to coordinated care with each patient’s neuromuscular specialist.
